Aaaaaaaah. I've now gotten my Doctor fix, and it is good.
Christmas Special
--I like Donna. She's got spunk. It's not Rose spunk, either. It's Donna spunk. In particular, she's not afraid to give the Doctor a smack when he needs it. It's a pity she didn't hang around longer. I would have liked to see her go on some more travels.
--Rose's shirt draped over a pole in the TARDIS, like she's going to return any second. And the Doctor's expression when he mentions it belonged to a friend who's gone. ;____________;
--I kinda liked the Empress. She managed to be both pretty and creepy at the same time. I think she may have been channelling the Borg Queen. I also think the actress playing her deserves a medal for courageous performance under makeup. I'm sure getting an extra three pairs of eyes that blink with your own isn't fun.
--Lance ripping Donna a new one after revealing his relationship with her was all just an act. It's badness was incredibly good, if that makes sense. In other words, that whole shpeal was delivered really well. Talk about making you feel insignificant. ;_;
Smith and Jones
--The TIE. Best time travel cheap trick EVAR.
--SPACE RHINOS!!! ON THE MOON!!!
--Also, barefoot on the moon! Actually, that whole sequence was just hilarious. It's amazing how the Doctor can say/do things that seem completely ludicrous, but make perfect sense at the same time.
--I have to admit, this really rubbed me the wrong way--at one point, the Doctor grabs Martha's hand and tells her to run, just like in "Rose". I guess it was the fact that they made a point of showing it (including a shot of him grabbing her hand, etc). It makes me feel like they're going to try to turn Martha into Rose v.2.0. I hope that doesn't happen. I think, personally, that Rose is a very tough act to follow, and if Martha's going to stand up to that, she needs to be her own character. But maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
--Did I mention the SPACE RHINOS?
Of course, now I'm dying for it to be 8 on Friday next week. I think I've degenerated into a hopeless fangirl. ._.;
