WOOHOO HAL!!! YEAH!!! that makes me so happy, you don't even know!! i stuck a bunch of pits in soil just to see what happens (b/c some sites say to directly plant into soil) and there's one currently splitting. it also dries up faster, so i know there are roots. also, the 1/2 a pit my sister found that was growing, that's been having major issues (it dried, it was too wet, it had black mites, i burned part of it when i burned the mites b/c i'm weird...), still has life on it so i expect there to be growth at some point this century!!! also, with hal doing well, i'm thinking that babycado will need a prune at some point. he's getting rather tall and sent out a new bunch of leaves recently...much quicker than the last leaves, but the internode is much longer (and thinner)...there are 3 leaves out with 3 more in a 2nd 'bud' (ie. avobaby's "peace sign"). the newest internode is about 3 inches long...which is considerably longer than the previous nodes. weird. also, babycado needs a new pot. he's not root-bound yet, but....i think i will need to replant within the next few months. i have 2 other pits waiting to go...the one in soil is showing no sign of anything but the yongest pit, in water, looks pretty dead. :( this makes me sad. i'm hoping the other pits do well, tho...
