Remember that shiitake mushroom that bit me yesterday? Yeah, well, I thought maybe my thumb would be sore for a little while, then stop. It's still quite sore today though, and it kinda looks a little red. I hope it's not going to get infected or anything. Alternatively, I hope I don't wake up one morning and discover I can grow my own shiitakes. That would be disturbing, especially since it meant the fungus was eating my thumb. I kinda need that.

Or even worse, it could mean I'm becoming a werefungus.

Excuse my unfamiliarity with mushrooms, but how did it bite you? Does it have spikes or something? Feel better soon, Ru-finger! <3 <3

Well, I'm still not completely sure *what* happened exactly, but I was trying to scrub the mushrooms clean, and was having a hell of a time trying to get the bottoms clean, so I started really scrubbing. I think in the process, I somehow managed to slip and get a bit of fungal material jabbed under my nail, although I'm not sure how it could become sharp enough to do such things. I think that's how it managed to bite me though.

It did made me decide that it would be easier to just rip off the very bottoms and throw them away, since we weren't going to be using that part anyway. I didn't want to get any more sore fingers. ^_^;;
