Avocadocumentary--Week 14: With String!

Since I'm kinda tuckered out, I'm going to skip the intro and go straight to the picture cut!

Friend Ruler is back! Avobaby's been looking awfully healthy lately--the new leaves are getting big and strong, and the apical bud is already starting to get juicy again, meaning there should be some new leaves on the horizon. I'd really love for Avobaby to get some branches, though. I'm not quite certain what it would take to get that to happen. The only way I know of would be to cut the apical bud, but I can't just bear to do that, not when it's promising more leaves.

Bark development has also been progressing nicely. It looks like it's a lot denser now, and there's a bit on the side that almost looks like it's going to start creeping up the stem. With any luck, Avobaby will soon be a real tree! <3

And because I have developed a love for string, I also want to show my newest finished knitting project. <3

Using this pattern, I've managed to both learn how to knit with two circular needles and how to make a buttonhole while making some ultra spiffy wristwarmers in the process!

I'm convinced the yarn is made of 100% pure awesome. While it was probably a little big for the pattern, and I had to basically cut the measurments in half in order to get it to fit, I was too in love with it to *not* use it. The colors are too gorgeous, and the resulting fabric it makes is both soft and warm--basically, it's chenille. Must remember to keep them away from the dryer.

My hand! Clad in AWESOME! I love how the yarn subtly spirals. And I was rather amazed to discover that by simply warming my wrists, the rest of me would be warmed to a certain degree as well. I've been using that to my full advantage this week, wherein the temperature plummetted to an ultimate minimum of 17 degrees. Bit frosty.

Avobaby is looking awesome!

I'M GLAD YOU APPROVE OF THEM! <3

And Avobaby thanks you for the compliment!

that is indeed 100% pure awesome yarn. The ribbing looks good in it.

Avobaby has some NICE looking bark there. (My own pit has rooted, and been put in dirt, but has yet to sprout in an upwards direction.)

Eeee! I'm glad the ribbing is noticeable! I thought it might not be, thanks to the thickness of the yarn and the fact that there's less of it.

*cheers your avocado pit on!* I can't quite remember how much time it took before Avobaby finally put out a shoot after it went into a pot, but I do seem to recall that if you peek inside the crevice, you should be able to see where the shoot is when it starts to make its grand entrance. I didn't know what it was at first, since it kinda blended with the rest of the pit. Then it started moving upwards, and I knew that Avobaby was alive and well. <3
