Well, both good stuff and bad stuff this week.

Daytime shot! Once again Avobaby is forging ahead with a new set of leaves. I'm wondering if they're going to be even bigger than the previous ones. I do think, though, that I need to start taking pictures of Avobaby from the other side of the island, since I just can't get it all in from where I normally do it.

Avobaby definitely seems to be forsaking its old seed now. It's actually blacker than it looks in this picture, almost like it's rotting. I gave it a poke, though, and it doesn't seem to be any softer. Maybe it's becoming petrified. Either way, Avobaby feels it's too mature for childish things like seeds and the like.

Speaking of childish babies, Hal has moved out of the water vase and into the wee pot! I was really hoping to give Hal Avobaby's old pot, but I think it got thrown out in the last garage cleaning. That's okay, though, because I found a suitable substitute. I think it was probably a good idea to get Hal out of the water though, much like kids need to eventually get out of their crib and start sleeping in a big-person bed--mold was starting to grow on Hal's seed spots. I'm wondering, then, if they're actually weak spots in the seed. I hope not, though.

Either way, I think Hal looks awfully cute in its pot. It kinda looks like a tiny baby bird mouth. <3 I'm a little worried I might have put too much soil around it, but we'll see.

On a different note, look! Punkins! Or one pumpkin, in this case. I only took a picture of one of them, but all of them are thriving. Actually, it was a little frightening how quickly they grew. At 6:00 in the morning on Friday, they were basically still underground. One of them was just barely peeking out. At 6:00 that evening, they had all burst forth with huge stems and huger leaves. And now today, they're ready to go into the ground. Holy energetic vines, Batman.

Also, my reseeded sunflowers and tomatoes are showing signs of life. I'm so happy about that. Maybe I'll be able to grow tomatoes for the summer after all. <3 <3

But on a sadder note, my black dragon coleus has spider mites. ;_; After a moment of "ARGH. DIE DIE DIE DIE.", I hit it with some insecticidal soap, so hopefully that'll help. Still. ;_;

Squee! Avobaby looks so lush and leafy!
My own avocado looks to be in the palm tree stage. The strange three-sectioned seed did not sprout, but I found another seed that was enormous, and that one's sprouting unusually fast. o.O
