Well, looks like there wasn't a ton happening, even with an extra week without pictures.

So, I broke down and started photographing from the other side of the island, because Avobaby's just gotten way too big to get it all from the close side. Close ups are interesting too, since I kinda have to stand on my tiptoes, aim the camera, and hope for the best, since I can't reach as high as I'd need to properly point it.
Anyway, friend ruler is back! It has returned from what was likely a long and raucous trip to Vegas, where it had a torrid affair with a protractor that ended in tears and afterwards it nearly started a promising career in the new field of showdeskobjects, but then remembered its commitment to Avobaby and came home.
Or it just got lost in the junk drawer. But I like my version better.
Either way, Avobaby is definitely continuing to get big. I think the stem has gotten a little bit thicker up top, which is good, since Avobaby's still putting out leaves right and left.

The new leaves are continuing to develop nicely. It kinda amazes me how quickly they grow. It seems like only yesterday they were just emerging. Although on the other hand, I wasn't able to watch them for a couple days, so there was probably a growth spurt I missed.
I'm starting to wonder, though, if Avobaby's ever going to branch out. I get the impression it's going to keep going up and up. I'm not quite sure if there's a way to encourage it to branch without pruning it or not. Although on the other hand, I don't know if trying to get it to branch would be a good idea or not. I'm worried it would make it way too top heavy. Hmm.
