Anyway, they're NOT the Chinese hybrids. They're REAL American chestnuts that happen to have by chance the mutation necessary to resist the fungus. They're from the stands out west that survived the blight, and now are about the ONLY real American Chestnuts left. The idea is to try to start spreading them again, and hoping for the best.
