ru: (strange)
Unfortunately, the turnout for trick-or-treaters was not quite as large as I would like (the bowl I was using to distribute candy with is still half-full), and the majority of them came within the span of a half an hour before it kinda just stopped. Ah well. I guess that's what happens when you live in an older neighborhood. But anyway.

Interesting costumes which the Ru saw Halloween night:
--A pair of dice (the girl was dressed up to look like one of the die, while her trick-or-treating bag was made up to look like the second one)
--A ladybug
--Something which appeared to be a rabbit cowboy
--Several zombie-type creatures
--A chicken, with angel-like wings standing in as chicken wings
--A pink fairy
--A couple of very tiny cheerleaders on two different occasions. They couldn't have been more than two or three, so I'm guessing this was their first Halloweens. One of them seemed like she was getting into it, barely needing prompting from her parents before putting her treat bag on the door ledge and basically asking in two-year-old-ese for candy. The other was much more shy about it, but you could tell when I gave her candy that she was thinking something along the lines of "Hey, I get to dress up and go to people's doors, and they give me candy? Yeah, okay, I could get into this." Aaah, the joys of watching the Halloween spark developing. <3 <3

On the subject of first Halloweens, I'm now curious, what were you peoples' first Halloween costumes (or at least the earliest one you remember)? According to pictures and my parents, I went as a hobo my first Halloween, using some old clothes, including a scarf, some blush, and a plaid robe of some sort, to complete the look. I was apparently too shy to go out and trick-or-treat, but I was more than happy to answer the door for people. ^_^
