I found out today that my star tree is gone.

I was so shocked and distraught that I cried a little. Yes, it is probably a little silly to get that upset over, but I dunno that I really care whether it was or not.

dude, that's so sad!! ;_; really, that's so disheartening. i hate when people remove trees for "development"! >_< they're tearing trees out left and right around this whole area to build up all those sucky clone houses that cost a fortune and are built so poorly. -_-

I'm sorry! I hope you are able to find a new tree, somehow. Bad news on the night-bloomer, the flower did fall off before opening. You may have been right in that it was infected with something. Oh, well.
