Science is GROOVY
Feb. 26th, 2010 07:53 pmAs many of you know, I'm a sucker for geeky science films, and their ability to turn what can be perceived as the drudgery of science class into something FUN. Most of the ones I've seen are pretty recent, but then I stumbled upon this little gem. The film was made in 1971, and shows protein synthesis, interpreted as DANCE. I was pleasantly surprised that the way it was described then isn't much different from how it's described now in biology classes.
And it is very, very obviously influenced by the 1960's. The combination of dance and Lewis Carroll-adapted science poetry and groovy music makes it indeed EPIC.
