The Tome of Grass

Did I say over nine hundred? I lied. I meant over one thousand.

I'm reminded of a scene from Akira, which, by the way, I should probably see. If nothing else, I've heard that the animation is very good. But anyway, I have seen this one scene from it, where one of the characters is transforming into this huge, monstrous blob thing with weird flesh-blobs coming out every which-way and is growing to insane proportions.

That's what this thesis makes me think of.

I personally didn't really like or understand Akira, which I think makes me some sort of anime heretic (which I already was based on my belief that there IS no Haruhi, and in fact her entire story was simply based off a distorted retelling of an old light novel, which annoys the heck out of those who try the same argument with MY God...).

Have you considered your thesis might be sampling some of your grass? If so, I wouldn't let it, as it's way too young to be trying that.

Well, one thing to keep in mind about Akira, the anime, is that it's a set of five large graphic novels compressed into about two hours. For technical details, and perhaps even soundtrack, it's a very good anime. Storywise, er, not so much.

Will and I once drank four liters of Coke before watching Akira. After that, the movie made sense (or so we have said) but so would most anything after having ingested that much sugar and caffeine as high school students.

I believe it. A similar effect is achieved if you watch End of Eva really really late at night. Suddenly it all makes sense!

I figure that if your thesis is long enough, you'll get an A for effort. :D

I agree with this comment. They'll give you your degree if for no other reason than they don't want to have the review that many pages a second time. ADD MORE PAGES.

Just don't let them find out that 847 of those pages are just "All work and no play make Ru get sued for copyright infringement." written over and over.

I don't know. That may get her graduated faster if it scares them enough. :D

Hmm! Maybe they give out sympathy Master's! :D

BWAHAHA....that's hilarious!! ^__^
monster thesis!! IT'S TAKING OVER!!! WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA........

as for akira, despite me enjoying animation in general, japanese animation, japanese stories and dark violence, i actually didn't enjoy akira. i found it too long and rather boring. ^^;; i was quite disappointed b/c so many people recommended it to me. but that's me. maybe you'll love it. i hope you do! ^_^

Akira pretty much traumatized me as a teenager. The kid turning into a giant blob-thing? Yeah. Nightmares.

That said, you clearly are an awesome researcher who has many important things to say about grass! It's cool that you're so passionate.

At least you know if you ever need to write a dissertation, YOU WILL BE ON THAT LIKE WHITE ON RICE.
