So, another Animazement gone. I think I'm in the let-down phase right now. Just feel really blah, and not really up for doing anything. Or maybe that's because I have work to do and I really don't feel like doing it right now. Kinda feel like lying down and sleeping for several hours. Probably didn't help that the song from one of the music videos, one which I found particularly depressing, keeps running through my head and is NOT STOPPING. MAKE IT STOP, IT MAKES ME SAD. ;_;
I would like to say though that the one thing that really and truly made the con for me was seeing "Eva: The Musical". One of the other anime clubs put it on. I have to say it was probably one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. They were taping it, so I'm hoping they'll put it up for download or something. My only real qualm with it though was that some of the people in it didn't sing loudly enough, so they were drowned out by the music. But it was still awesome.
Highlights from the musical included:
--Seeing the former president of our own anime club playing Rei. I would like to point out first off that our former president is a guy, which is kinda amusing(especially since he had a beard, which they dyed blue to match his wig. Turns out though that the dye wouldn't come out afterwards, so he had to shave it off ^^;; ). But what really made it funny was just how he played her--his only line was "Hai." until the drugs wore off, at which point he would suddenly burst out into loud, boisterous, masculine song until some orderlies grabbed him and Ritsuko(did I get the name right?) injected him with something that made him go back to saying only "Hai.".
--Shinji. The girl playing him did a fairly good job with him, and made him sufficiently whiny and angsty. Her lines "I'm alive...I'm alive" after a battle with an angel was funny. Not to mention she herself was very cute and I wanted to give her a big squeeze.
--Shinji's magical girl transformation into plug suit! Done whilst hiding behind a sheet painted up with a blushing Eva 01 face, complete with Sailor Moon henshin music and ended with a magical girl finishing pose. I found that delightful.

dragon_god_jc HAVING A ROLE AND NOT TELLING ME. And I was wondering what he was doing hanging out near the stage while we were all filing in. XD I believe we can all thank you for beating down the angry fanboy at the end. XD
All in all, it was awesome. I found it really funny though that while they managed to figure out a way to eliminate the cosplay line, the number of people showing up to see the musical was so large that it may as well have been another cosplay line. Eien-chan dubbed it the "Son of Cosplay line".
And remember "All you need is love."
