Since I'm gonna be gone next week, I'm doing the report this week. And it is exciting!

Avobaby has a drinking problem, I'm fairly certain of it now. It's been a week since I repotted Avobaby, and it still hasn't righted itself, significantly leaning away from the window. I'm starting to grow concerned. Usually I have to turn it on a weekly basis to help keep it growing upwards. I wonder if maybe the weight of the leaves is preventing it from bending appropriately. Or maybe the stress of being in a new pot has driven it to drink. In any case, I'm going to give it a couple more days. If it doesn't fix itself by then, it is going into REHAB. Read: I'm gonna stake it and see if that helps.

Also seen is Avobaby's new digs. I'm hoping that the pot is big enough that when we leave for FL, I can saturate the pot and that'll give Avobaby enough water for ten days such that it's not all wilted when I get back. Actually, that's all the more reason that I should stake Avobaby--if it does wilt, those big leaves might snap the stem, especially if it doesn't stop leaning the way it does. AVOBABY LAY OFF THE WHISKEY, GEEZ.

Another plant, however, is going to need to be fully babysat, as its pot is much too small for significant water holding. I am talking of this plant!

GOOD MORNING RU.

It is CONFIRMED! Hal lives! That's an avocado sprout if ever I saw one! 'course, there's still the question of the odd little green bump at the base of Hal. I'm still thinking secret alien pod with plans for world domination.

Good golly, avocado sprouts are so gosh darn cute. LOOK AT THOSE TINY LEAVES! I just wish that Hal hadn't taken so long to make his appearance. Since we're leaving on Saturday, I'm gonna leave him in the hands of my next door neighbors so he'll get watered during the week. I'm concerned that, being a tender shoot, he wouldn't fare with a significant lack of water well. And we can't have him drying up on us. That would be sad! Avobaby needs a baby brother to look after, since it apparently has taken to the grape. Maybe the responsibility will set it straight.

Hal is also marked to be the pruning comparison plant. Since Avobaby was left uncut, we're gonna try following what all the avocado-growing sites say and give Hal a pruning after he's gotten a few leaves. It'll be interesting to see how that changes Hal's shape. And maybe that green alien pod will reveal its true identity at some point.
