So, I haven't been getting much sleep lately. For the past week and a half or so I've been getting less sleep than usual, mostly due to me finding something I need to do before I go to bed, or not wanting to go to bed because I'm on a roll with something I need to work on. The result is that I go to bed half an hour, an hour later than I wanted to. This is really starting to take its toll on me. I think I'm starting to get a perma-headache. I've been trying to supplement it by sleeping on the several long road trips I've had to take the past week, but the problem is I've never really gotten the hang of sleeping while in motion. So that doesn't help much.

But anyway, once again last night I got to bed about a half an hour later than I would have wanted to, but oh well, it's not *too* late, so I should be able to get a decent night's sleep so maybe I can catch up at least a little bit before today, right? At least that's what I think. So I go to bed.

Five hours later, cue me getting woken up by a bullhorn-type siren and the monotone sound of someone declaring that an emergency has been reported, I need to walk to the nearest stairwell, and whatever I do, I should NOT use the elevator. *sigh* So, it's that time again, time for the early morning fire drill. I get up and stagger out with the rest of my suite to go stand IN THE RAIN while we waited for the fire truck to show up and turn off the alarm so we could go to bed. About ten minutes later(and after whiffing something that smelled suspiciously like smoke. I bet someone burnt their toast or something. *grumble*), they let us go back in. Okay, fine. So it could've been worse. The dorm could've burnt down.

So I go back to my room, shake off some of the water, and get ready to get back in bed. I'm *just* crawling in when all of a sudden I hear the bullhorn again. Cue me groaning loudly, echoed by my suitemates. So I go back to throwing my blanket around me and preparing to go stand in the rain again when...it stops. ...Okay. I go and stare at the alarm(which is still flashing) and a wait a few moments. It stops flashing. Okay fine. I close my door again and throw off the blanket again. Bullhorn. More groaning. Blanket back on again. Walking out. Stops. By this time I'm really confused. I go to the suite door and poke my head out to see if anyone is getting up to go, in case I'm missing something. Doesn't look like it. The bullhorn goes off again, startling me half to death. This time I feel the need to flip off the alarm as I go back to my room to get my blanket on. It stops. Instead of throwing off my blanket again, I get my shoes on and go down to the dorm office to ask, in my sleepy, grumpy fashion, WTF is going on. Apparently the fire safety people are having issues resetting the alarm, and that they don't know how long it'll take. LOVELY. Trying to sleep while the alarm is going off at random points is not my ideal sleeping environment. But, on the bright side the gal said we didn't have to go stand outside again. So, I go back to my room, and realize on the way that the alarm hasn't gone off in a couple minutes. Maybe they finally reset it. So I throw off the blanket and try to go back to sleep.

Cue me being startled by a sound that sounds a lot like someone trying out their new dumpster catapult, followed by loud applause. I get up and look outside. It's monsooning. With hail. And lots of loud thunder. Well, at least I didn't have to stand out in that. So I try to go back to bed. Cue me *now* being startled by what sounds like the fire alarm's attempt to join in on the cacophony by making a loud *BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* noise. By this time I wonder if I'll *ever* go back to bed.

Thankfully though, after one more long *BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* the alarm stops and the thunder dies down to a manageable level. After all that, I was finally able to get to bed. I suspect I lost about a half an hour's sleep. which means I lost an hour alltogether. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever catch up on my lack of sleep.

So.......tired......
