So, I went with [livejournal.com profile] aneles to see the lovely Shakespearean play, "Titus Andronicus" tonight. That was definitely an experience in and of itself. And getting back home was also an interesting adventure, seeing as we had to get back without quite knowing where we were, in the dark. With lightning. And lots of rain. But! Got home we did, else I wouldn't be writing this right now, ne?

In any case, I got to see the talented [livejournal.com profile] toxicsmile86 perform, which made me happy. You were awesome, but in particular, I thought the way you carried yourself(definitely conveyed a feeling of NOT NICE and looking damn awesome while doing it) and the way you fought were really nifty. <3 <3

As far as the play itself goes, I knew a little about the play before going into it. Even so, I was still unprepared for how intense the performance was, and how violent the play is. It was also probably the messiest play I've ever seen, with pie and sand and blood and water and so on all being used and spat out and thrown about and so on and so forth. On a slightly different note though, I also really liked how the actor who played Titus performed. He definitely straddled the entire emotional spectrum, and did it well.

All in all, I enjoyed the performance, and I'd like to read the play now so I can get a bit more of the nuances of it and the motives behind some of the characters. Knowing Shakespeare, there was probably a lot more in the realm of language and play on words than what I caught, so I'd like to see what more I can find.

[livejournal.com profile] aneles was probably right though. It was probably a play Shakespeare wrote when he was having a bad day. XD
