Happy Fun Traveling Time part II!
Aug. 1st, 2005 10:17 pmJust a few random thoughts today. Today was pretty laid back, mainly consisting of lunch with my cousin that's getting married, and a few errands. I did manage to get ahold of a pair of earrings to wear to the wedding though, and my father decided to go to the liquor store to pick up brandy and creme de cacao. Everyone's decided that I should try brandy alexanders for my birthday. This oughta be interesting. According to what my mom's told me, it's basically a spiked milkshake. My father did realize though that alcohol is *much* cheaper than it is back home. We think it's because back home they tax the heck out of it so it's expensive, so you guilt trip yourself into not buying much and therefore are less inclined to not get drunk. Or something.
I've decided that if I ever decide to get a cat, I want a cat like my aunt's cat, Steve. He's offically the sweetest cat I know, lovable and laid back. However, I still kinda wish I knew why he decided to come visit me last night and sniff my face while I was trying to get to sleep. Maybe he likes minty toothpaste breath. ^_^;
Something I realized about Florida today is how eclectic it is. While driving along the same stretch of road, we saw a walled in resort that advertised being "Clothing Optional", and a really upscale golfing resort that you just know catered to the wealthy, uptight, and who preferred to keep their clothes on at all times. What a funny dichotomy.
I've also decided my project for this vacation is learning how to knit. I've made a couple of small strips of cloth, mainly as practice patches as I attempt to learn how this whole knitting thing works. For some reason my wee cousins think they're the coolest things EVAR. But in any case, I've learned how to start a piece, do knitting stitches, and finish it off. So it's a start. Purling, however, continues to be rather elusive. It's tough.
