Okay, I know there are a few gardening types on my f-list, so I'll pose this query here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but generally all of a tomato plant, except for the ripe fruit, is poisonous. That's what you get for being related to nightshade and all. That would therefore imply that except for the ripe fruit, you generally don't want to go snacking on tomato plants.

With that in mind, I'd love to know why I've had a squirrel breaking off (and I'm assuming chewing) tomato leaves from the garden. And while I don't have positive proof, I think it may be eating the unripe fruit too. On the other hand, it's entirely possible I'm not seeing the same squirrel every time. Hm.

On a different note, we apparently had a GINORMOUS storm last night, with massive, explosion-like thunderclaps. I say 'apparently' because I slept through it. >_> Although I did have some rather distressing dreams involving explosions. It seems like even though I can be very sound sensitive, especially when I'm trying to fall asleep, when it comes to huge sounds in the middle of the night, I sleep right through them. I slept through Hurricane Fran when it came barreling through the area over a decade ago, killing power(which we were without for a week) and knocking down trees, some of which were in our backyard. Well, I should qualify that. I did wake up once--long enough to think to myself "Oh, it's raining", and then rolling over and going back to sleep. ^_^;

Holy moly, it's snowing! It's really coming down too. Mmm, snow.

But it's really bittersweet too. I'm on spring break right now, which means that if we were to get a delay/cancellation normally, it wouldn't matter much now because it's a holiday. Damn you, snow! You should've come a week earlier or later! Then we could get something a little extra!

Feh. :p

We have snow! Lots of it! And it's still coming down! It's a beautiful thing. <3 <3 <3

And what's more, no school today! Hooray! I only wish the uni hadn't dragged their feet on making that decision, as if they had done it a bit earlier, I still would've had enough sleepiness hanging over me that I could've gone back to sleep. Tried napping, but all I could really do was doze. Once Ru v. 3.1 is booted, it has a tendency to not shut down willingly. But ah well. Shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess.

Snow! <3

Randomness!

Good GRIEF what a strange day. Pressure changes so crazy they make me nauseous, high winds, random cloudbursts, and HAIL. IN JANUARY. From what I can tell, hail is a summer thing. Of course, it had to start hailing while I was trying to get home in the dark and rain, so I decided then would be a very good time to pull into a gas station and buy gas and hope that the hail would stop (it did). WTF, weather?

So, things start up for me again tomorrow. You know I'm massively excited. >_> I've already started having bad dreams about teaching (the most recent one involved me trying to give my class an exam, but the TV in the room was possessed, or something, because it would keep randomly turning on and distracting them. I couldn't get it to turn off, so I had to mute it). My schedule is really weird. I'm teaching basically all day on Mondays, now. Tuesday and Wednesday are basically free for the moment, although I still have to go to seminar on Tuesdays (*groan*). Friday is lab prep day, which just leaves Thursdays. Thursdays SUCK. In the words of the great Arthur Dent, I could never get the hang of Thursdays. I've got a 10AM class, and then a second class in the evening from 5:30-8:30. It's at a center that's not on the main campus, either, so I'm going to have to hop a bus to get out there. And because I have that early morning class, I can't just go down to school after my brother gets home. So that means I'll have to ride in with my mother like always (and get up at the crack of WTF), and have a day that basically lasts from 7 in the morning until 8:30 at night. You know I'm positively enthused.

On a better note, though, I got a nice chunk of writing done! 8 stories drafted, including a couple songfics and two giftfics. They all need to be hit repeatedly with the edit stick before they're presentable, but I'm still pretty pleased with myself. Editing them oughta keep me pretty busy during the semester.

Now, if only my pinky would stop hurting. It's protesting when I use the 'shift' key. Meh.

So, Hanna's coming. I know this because my head hurts. I don't really even need to look at weather reports--if my sinuses act up and subsequently give me a headache that makes me feel like my head's full of water, the weather's about to change. Most commonly, it's a signal it's going to rain. It's pretty reliable too, like I have my own personal barometer.

So we're going to be getting buckets of rain. And it'll probably kill either the internets or the power (and the internets by default). There's been this pattern the past few weeks where, usually on the weekend, either the power or the internets go out thanks to various forces, including the weather and the power converter box out front spontaneously imploding. The most recent happening was last Saturday. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by this, especially considering I kinda need both to do my schoolwork.

And if Hanna doesn't knock one or the other out, I'm sure Ike will. >_<

Anyway. The point of all this is to say that if you don't see me online tonight, it's probably because I'm without power or the internet. Or that we floated away.

And to those of you that I owe tags, I swear I haven't forgotten about you. <3 School has been keeping me mega busy. I'm going to try to work on a couple tonight, assuming Hanna doesn't put a kink in plans.
