So, not much to say about Sunday, as it was pretty quiet. I ended up getting the Trogdor shirt by default, since they were out of my size in the Fruity Oaty Bar shirt. That's okay, though, because I decided to console myself with a Tardis shirt. <3 <3 <3

Eien-chan and I went to the art auction as well, and in the process proving that auctions can be a lot of fun, particularly when you have a witty auctioneer. Eien-chan ended up winning a couple of very nice pieces, and it was just fun to watch the antics of attempting to purchase items. We also watched the AMV contest reshowing afterwards, which featured some videos not used in the main contest. Apparently one of the AMVs utitlized a yaoi series, which caused all the fangirls in the audience to squee at once.

I'm sad it's over, but there's always next year to look forward to!

And speaking of looking forward to things next year, I learned that Spamalot's gonna be coming to town April next year. I sooooooooooo wanna go.

Today is also a bit of a landmark for me--I ended up having to drive Eien-chan home, so for the first time, I managed to drive on the interstate, there, and then back again by myself. I even surprised myself by passing someone on the interstate, though I think I was justified in it--I at least *attempt* to drive the speed limit--I don't drive 45 (35 at one point) in a 60 mph zone. In any case, though, I'm rather proud that it went well--except for the fact that I realized that it takes two clicks to turn the headlights on, not one. Go me.

Aaaah, more fun with Animazement! I definitely think there are more people here than there were last year. A lot more. It was pretty darn crowded, making maneuvering an interesting experience.

Particularly interesting costumes include: A herd of Katamari Damacy relatives, a couple of Jack Sparrows (including one carrying a compass and doing a very good Jack Sparrow-walk), the ever-present walking Pocky boxes, and a Tetris piece. Sadly, the Pimp Daddy Shopping Cart did not make an appearance this year, at least as far as I could tell.

And of course, there was the musical, which was once again awesome. Featuring the adventures of several JETs in Japan (including one that didn't speak any English, and one that looked like she had the makings of a Yakuza boss), it was a good ol' show with some really spiffy writing. And once again, there was a certain [livejournal.com profile] dragon_god_jc in it who didn't tell me that he was. Geez. :p And since we got in early, we got to watch the Plushie Puppetry Preshow antics. Also known as: cameramen testing their equipment, and having fun with the audience members, who held up their newly-acquired plushies for them and did little dances and whatnot. It was rather cute. ^_^

Speaking of acquisitions, including the Kumagoro plushie I got yesterday, I ended up getting a couple Sailor Moon wall scrolls, a few pins to add to my growing collection (including a pixelated old school Mario pin), and a "My Little Cthulhu" t-shirt, complete with hearts and rainbows. And, Eien-chan surprised the hell out of me (despite the fact that I ended up stumbling across him getting them for me, but that didn't really ruin the surprise for me) by getting me not one, not two, but all three of the Please Save My Earth artbooks. He made me positively wriggle with joy over that, particularly since I wasn't expecting it at all. ^_^

You can't have him. He's mine. ^_^

I've decided I want to get one more shirt tomorrow. The question is, do I want to get a Trogdor shirt, or do I want to get a Fruity Oaty Bar shirt? I'm currently leaning towards the latter, because I think it would be fun to walk around and see how many people actually get the Serenity reference. ^_^;

Best moment at Animazement Friday:

One of the AMVs during the music video contest utilized the song "Breathe". During the AMV, a trend started in the audience and quickly spread whereby people used their electronic devices--cells, PDAs, Nintendo DS's, etc, as faux lighters.

Super Best Fun Limit Break for Extra Awesomeness: During all this, somebody a few rows ahead, who was cosplaying as the Fourth Doctor, lit up his sonic screwdriver and joined the fun. HEE. <3 <3 <3

Also, apparently the musical this year is about the trials and tribulations surrounding teaching English in Japan. Di, I'm going to be thinking of you the whole time. ^_^

Also also, [livejournal.com profile] hearsawho, there is currently a documentary on Animal Planet about developing an elephant herd, and featuring copious baby elephant antics. I think it's called "Growing Up Elephant" or something like that. I hope you will be able to catch it! <3
