Avocadocumentary--Part 1
Nov. 11th, 2006 11:06 pmOkay, I decided to give this a whirl, see how it goes.
The avocado is definitely going gangbusters at this point--it's only been a couple days since it started really growing, but I guess after having taken a million and one years to actually sprout, it's trying to make up for lost time.

As you can tell by the way this thing is bending, it definitely likes its sun--this is *after* I rotated it once. It decided it didn't like that though, so it went "Bitch, PLEASE", and over the course of the day, twisted itself around so that it was heading towards the window I keep it on again. Avocados are woody, but at this point, it's definitely showing some contortionist aspirations. The woodiness'll come later, I suspect. It looks like there's some leaf buds developing too, so hopefully we'll be seeing some green soon.

the cover's a bit different from the canadian version, but i'm sure the contents are the same. it's published the same year. the book is HUGE and HEAVY (think two of your biology texts) but full of so much info.
i got mine as a gift from char's (bestfriend) boyfriend, rick. it was only $50 canadian at price club/costo and it's regular $150 canadian. O_o but it's SO worth it. hmmm....it appears to be a bit cheaper for you americans.
ask for this for Christmas...that is, if you don't have it yet!
