Well, it's definitely late this week, but on the other hand, there hasn't really been much to report on the Avobaby front. But, there is a little, so!

Avobaby seems to be getting thirsty more often nowadays--this past week it went droopy and angsty around Thursday, a good couple of days before my usual watering day. I wonder if this is a sign Avobaby is becoming potbound. If that's the case, then I should look into transplanting it when the weather gets a little warmer. It seems to be enjoying its new spot in the dining room, so I'm thinking I may make it its permanent home, as going up one more pot size will officially make Avobaby too big for the sill.

The new leaves have taken an interesting turn--those three on top are looking big and healthy (and I think there's a fourth one coming in), but then there's those two on bottom, which look puny and even a little dried out. It's almost like Avobaby's aborting those two leaves and putting all of its focus on the ones on top. Interesting. I'm not quite sure if this is a normal growth habit for avocados, to put out several baby leaves and then focus on only a few, but it's the same sort of thing it seemed to do the last time around. I guess we'll find out for certain when it goes through its next leaf growth spurt.

On a different note, nothing has happened yet with the pomegranate seeds. Thus far, all I've managed to grow in the seed cup is...mold. This is a little disconcerting. However, it's also only been a week. I'm going to hold out for another week or so before I get really concerned. In the meantime, it'll sit in the cupboard and stay moist and hopefully I'll get something botanical instead of my own personal fungi farm.
