"Let's Not Shoot the Crazy End of the World Machine"

Well, I've now finished watching the premire of Eureka. I must say, I liked it. I dunno that I'm necessarily fully hooked yet, but I'm definitely intrigued enough to keep watching it, at least for a little while. In any case, though this may be the first time in a very long time that I've got a show that I'm watching that has an actual storyline, and that I'm watching it as it first airs, instead of mixed up reruns.

I have some initial good and bad impressions, which I'll slip behind a cut for the benefit of those in other time zones who may have not seen it yet.
