Dalek the Third: Supreme Dalek

I think I need a knitting icon. XD

Anyway, now that Dalek #3 has been acquainted with his rightful owner, I can now show PICTURES.


Dalek #3 was done for aneles, who wanted a red Dalek. As a result, we got around to thinking that maybe a representation of the Supreme Dalek, last seen blowing up at the end of season 4, would be in order. So that's what I did!



Supreme Dalek in profile. The Supreme Dalek is in red and gold, although the gold gets kinda washed out by the boldness of the red. No matter, as he knows he's the kick-asseriest Dalek of them all! Like Dalek Red Shirt, his eyestalk and plunger arm are reinforced with thick wire. I recently procured some thinner-gauge wire, which I hope will be a little bit easier to work with. The stuff I was using was stubborn as all get-out when it came to being worked into knitting.



And from the back. I was a little concerned he got overstuffed, but I think he turned out alright. If nothing else, it makes him more squishable. <3

No frontways picture here. Right in the middle of his photoshoot, we were ATTACKED.



INTERLOPER. INVADER. CRAZED PURPLE HELLBEAST. EXTERMINATE. EXTERMINATE.

I wish I could show you the battle, but I was so shocked by the amount of violence that ensued that, well, I just couldn't bring myself to take pictures. I did manage to snap a photo of the outcome, though, once the dust had cleared.



Seriously, he didn't have a chance. My Little Ponies are much more agile than Daleks. And that magnet in their hoof? Killer. It's like River with a giant sharp pointy object.



No matter, though. Supreme Dalek recovered after that fateful night, and consoled himself with a wine glass full of diet soda. Got hella drunk off of it too. But he's recovered, and is now residing happily in his new home, where hopefully he won't encounter anything quite so vicious. YOU WIN THIS ROUND, KIMONO.

okay, so i have a sister who has a friend that LOVES daleks...or their voice or something. not sure. she has a dr. who keychain that exclaims "exterminate! exterminate!" among other things. soo....how much for one of these guys? not sure which one she'd like best or anything, as i know pretty much nothing of dr. who.....but i don't think the girl is choosey. soo...name your price, etc! :)

also, totally enjoyed the story your wrote about above. made me giggle.
also, how are the avocados and family doing?

Teehee, well, I'm actually not selling them, as I suspect I'd have the original pattern designer and the BBC knocking on my door if I did. Basically I'm making them as gifts for friends/family who ask for one, just 'cause they're fun to make. I have a couple more to get through before I finish this first wave of requests, but I'd be happy to make one for you once I get through those! It just may be a bit of a wait, as I only work on them a few hours a week, so each one takes a few months. ^_^;;

The avocados are doing well! I'm actually gonna try to do an update on them so people can see what they've been up to. <3

I LOVE Sam to death! He is THOROUGHLY huggable and he only tries to exterminate me a little bit when I do. Are you SURE that was diet soda in that glass he was drinking? Sometimes he kind of leans to one side, and I gotta wonder...do I have a lush on my hands?

By the way, did I tell you I now have a successful avocado tree and another on the way? Why did that sound like I was discusssing a pregnancy??
