So my parents and I decided that now that we have the Japanese magnolia in, we should add in some other plants too to serve as embellishment. Which means that today we went over to the local nursery to go find plants. I love going there. After all, it means I get to romp through the rows of plants and trees and squee at everything that's there and go "Ooh! What's this?" at every other plant. I know, I'm such a dork. ^_^;;

But in any case, we ended up getting five plants--two peonies, a lavender, something called a 'false indigo' that I thought looked neat, and a rose bush. Apparently my mother's been wanting a rose bush, especially since the one that sits in our side yard has been doing fairly well and shows that, yes, you can have a rose bush without having to fiddle with it every day. I would love to try doing rose bushes. Problem tho is that, well, I'm not home for much of the year and wouldn't be able to take care of them. My mother used to do that--we had a ton of rose bushes lining the driveway and things like that and they did wonderfully(heck, we got complaints from the mailman because they were doing so awesomely that they were eating the mailbox and preventing him from getting at it. XD ). However, her going to grad school and a late frost basically killed that endeavor. We now have three(four now that we have the fourth one) left, which I guess were the sturdiest of the bunch.

But anyway, I spent the early evening with my dad planting all these plants, which was an interesting endeavor. I'm mostly an indoor-plant person, simply because I live out of a dorm, so I got to try first hand the act of digging a hole and dumping a plant in it. XD It's left me pretty wiped though. Rock-ridden red clay is not the easiest material to stick a shovel into. I hope they do okay though. It's kinda late in the season to be planting plants, so we're going to have to water them regularly during the summer. Well, we're already having to water the Japanese magnolia twice a week, so I guess we'll get into the habit of doing the other plants too.

Aside from how to dig a hole for plants, I did learn one thing today: Spraying bug spray on legs that have been shaved that same morning hurts like heck. Just FYI.

Also, as more of a duty than anything else, I watched the ending of "Enterprise" last night. ...I could go on about that, but I think I'll save that for a rant for another time. Maybe if I'm feeling spammy I'll stick my Star Trek rambly rant behind a cut in another entry. XD

I was kinda surprised. I actually managed to get a rough draft of my EI app done in only a day and a half or so. Well, I think it had something to do with how the character has been bouncing around my head for a semester, so I've had a lot of time to think about her. I know for a fact the app's not ready to be submitted though, since I need to reread the character profiles and setting stuff to make sure I'm not overlapping or doing something I really shouldn't be doing. I think I'll do that now. <3 ...after I play one more round of the squirrel game. Why is this game so addictive? Why?!?

Hm, the climbing rose might be a good idea, especially since we're looking for something to climb up the mailbox. Just to annoy the mailman some more. XD

And yeah, "Enterprise" is indeed over. I wouldn't be surprised to see another series come along though. I just hope it would be better than "Enterprise" though.

And yes, TNG is my favorite too. <3 Love my Worf and my Data. <3 <3
