So apparently, if you take a soft flour taco tortilla, melt motzarella cheese on top of it, and then add sliced hard-boiled egg, avocado, and tomato, then wrap it all up, you get something rather tasty. I'm pleasantly surprised at this turn of events, as I wasn't really expecting it to turn out. I think this recipe needs to be worked on, though. I was considering adding rice, or maybe some tuna to it. I also think it needs a crunch of some sort. Raw carrots, maybe? Hmm.

I've decided that avocados have definitely grown on me, though. They are tasty sandwich additives, and I think I'm getting better about picking and dissecting them, so I don't get avocado mush all over my hands. I just need to be careful tho, since they are slightly fatty and all, that I don't go eating, say, one a day, or something like that. Still though. Mmmm, tasty dinner. <3 <3

Apparently if you put avocado slices on toast, sprinkle motzarella cheese on top, then stick the whole mess into the microwave for a litte under a minute, you end up with something that tastes almost exactly like hard boiled eggs.

How bizarre.

I would like to get more experimental with avocados. I've only ever known them to be in guacamole, but apparently they can be used in other things, like sandwich toppings. I'm still not 100% sure I fully like them or not, but I'd like to try liking them. Maybe they'll grow on me, at which point call the EPA, because there must be a mutagenic spill around here somewhere.

One thing's for certain though. I'm gonna save that seed and see if I can't grow me a new plant. <3 <3 <3 <3

Something I've learned through deduction:

It would be nigh impossible to cook in a rave, or in one of those horror movies with tons of those flashing lights designed to Disorient You and Scare You Silly.

The fluorescent bulb in the bathroom appears to be going, with the result being that it flickers like an unstable strobe light. It makes it very hard to measure water when you can't see straight thanks to flickering lights.

It did, however, give me the slight urge to get some glow sticks and techno music and throw a rave in the bathroom. XD

I dunno who decided tonight was going to be Free Music Night, but since getting back to my room I have heard:

--Someone playing a trombone.
--Someone playing a flute.
--Two someones playing a trombone and a flute together. That wasn't too bad compared to what happened next.
--KARAOKE. EXTREMELY LOUD KARAOKE. WHO THE HELL IS PLAYING THE KARAOKE SO LOUD? It sounds like it's coming from the top of the dorm.
--One singer did a rendition of "What a Wonderful World", which I have to admit was fairly good. I had to sit there and listen for a sec to figure out if I was hearing a recording or not. However, that was the high point.
--I then heard a couple of guys sing very badly to some sort of country song. Oh joy. They were off key and everything.
--Now they're playing "Somebody to Lean On". The quality of the singing isn't any better.

Aaah, the joys of living in a college dorm.

Oh crap. I think the rest of the dorm is joining in on the singing. I dunno if this bodes well or not.

ETA: I think it's coming from the ampitheatre that's in the center of our little dorm complex now. I think I may have been hearing the echo earlier. However, it doesn't deaden the fact that it's loud and *really* easy to hear. "Imagine" was sung, and now some guy is trying to do "Every Breath You Take". Unless you're Sting, or you can handle the high notes, you should not be a guy trying to sing it. MAKE IT STOP. ;_;
