Last night I dreamt I was a pirate. Well, 'treasure hunter' might have been more appropriate, considering we did very little looting and plundering of ships, but the crew and I considered myself pirates, so we were pirates. It involved lots of sailing about and crawling about dungeons in search of treasure, and featured undead skeleton soldiers underwater, attempting to find something called the Surf Key (why does that remind me of Link's Awakening?), and accidentially unleashing a hungry dragon that decided we looked like we would be excellent with a little lemon garlic butter. The best part, though, was when (after battling the undead skeleton soldiers underwater) we actually found a treasure room. It had the usual treasure accoutrements, but on top of that it had a large cache of extremely fuzzy warm blankets and My Little Ponies. Best. Treasure. Ever. I was in the midst of picking out the prime ones when my alarm went off. Damn.

Either way, I have no idea what this means.

If you want to participate, leave a comment saying "interview me."
◊ I will respond by asking you five questions - each person's will be different.
◊ You will update your journal with the answers to the questions.
◊ You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
◊ When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

◊ ...or you will do whatever the fuck you want, it's not like I own you or something. Yet.

Here I go, answering questions from the delightful [livejournal.com profile] thez!

This is the Ru from the future with a message! I got kinda long-winded! )

Okay, until I recover from the whole Christmas shopping thing, I'm not allowed into Target.

I found two ponies (Silver Glow, who has nifty painted wings, and...High Flyer, I think her name was? She has rainbow hair! <3) that I desperately want. I also found some really cool pants that make me seriously think I should look into learning how to embroider pants and things. And, and, and, I found out that Myst V is out!!!1 I really wish I knew that a couple weeks ago, so that I could ask for it for Christmas. ARGH. I guess I'll need to save my money and hope that it doesn't disappear before I can get ahold of it. Want to play it so so bad.

Note to self: Write that Myst musing at some point.

Also, I saw the most bizarre thing there--a skirt with a pattern not unlike wood. Seriously. It looked like it came out of shop class. Kinda odd.

I also realized that I have a couple of skeins of leftover yarn from making one of Eien-chan's presents. There's probably enough to make one, maybe two more scarves. I wonder, would anyone be interested in me making such a thing for them?

Yay for fun with culinary experiments! I found a recipe in one of my cookbooks for orzo with mushrooms that looked really tasty. The only problem with it is that it called for dried mushrooms, and mum and I, after a previous experiment, believe that dried mushrooms give her headaches(probably because of the preservatives). So while out and about today I went and got several types of fresh mushrooms--shiitake, white, and some sort of brown mushroom--cremini, I think they're called? Anyway, so armed with fresh mushrooms(and with some help from mum, since we were in a hurry), I went about trying to make this dish. I wasn't sure if the fact that we were using fresh mushrooms was going to be a problem, but in the end it didn't really matter. It was still mightily tasty. <3 <3 <3 However, it did end up with me getting a sore finger. In the process of washing the shiitakes, one of them decided to bite me, I think. Or maybe it just jammed fungus material under my thumbnail. Either way, my finger's slightly sore now. But it was worth it, because boy was it yummy.

On a slightly different note, I'm beginning to despair over whether or not I'll ever get my driver's license. I've been practicing a fair amount the past couple of days, thanks to now being on break, but it seems like I'm not getting any better at the whole driving thing. I guess I could practice more often than I do, but I still get really annoyed that I need hand-holding for certain manuevers, and that I'm still hesitant over certain things, and I still do stupid things like not notice the fact that hey, that light is red, I should be slowing down. And if I ever do get my license, it'll probably be quite a while before I start using it on a regular basis, so I'll probably get out of practice again. So it'll just be one big nasty cycle of being almost experienced and being completely sucky at it until I get in a wreck and die in a big spectacular fireball. Or something. I should get off this subject now.

In other news, I have ponies that need to be deboxed. I should go about doing that.
