Apparently 99.95% of the people at school are too cool for costumes on Halloween. :p
I wore my witch get-up today, complete with black dress, lace fingerless gloves, and green witch's hat of supreme awesomeness. I was definitely in the minority. The only other person I saw today that was even remotely dressed up was some guy wearing a top hat, which, by itself, is a bit of a cop out, I think. One of the profs said that he saw a girl wearing a cow outfit, but that's been about the extent of it that I've seen/heard of.
Being rather, ah, distinctive, I've gotten lots of remarks over the day, from one of the secretaries saying I was apparently going as a 'sexy witch', to accidentially scaring a couple of maintenance folks, to some guy going "What the Hell?!?" when he saw me. I ignored him. I did get a few compliments on my hat, though, which was nice. I love my witch's hat. <3
I also may have accidentially disrupted a class. I was walking down the hall to the watering fountain, and as I passed by an open door, I heard giggling from within, and a remark from the instructor that it's certainly a day to dress up. I heard more giggling after I got water and went back, which makes me think that either a.) They don't see witches randomly walking the halls often. or b.) They were so bored that they were staring out in the hallway. Anyway. XD
It's after 7, and we've only had two trick or treaters--a vampire, and a cute hermit crab girl with a seriously awesome paper mache conch shell. 10,000 points for creativity and ingenuity. <3 Still, we have tons of candy. I think our neighborhood has grown up, and we simply don't get as many trick or treaters anymore. Sadness.
